Kenzu ("we", "our", "us") operates the Kenzu mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (or third-party sign-in tokens from Google Sign-In).

Scan Data: When you scan a food label, we process the image text (OCR) to identify ingredients. We store scan results (ingredient names, risk assessments) linked to your account so you can access your scan history.

Payment Information: Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card numbers, UPI IDs, or bank details. We receive transaction IDs and payment status from Razorpay to manage your subscription.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage analytics such as feature usage frequency, app version, and device type to improve the app experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide ingredient analysis and risk assessment for scanned food labels
To maintain your scan history and personalized insights (premium feature)
To manage your subscription and process payments
To improve our ingredient database and analysis accuracy
To send important service-related communications

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

Supabase — database hosting and authentication
Razorpay — payment processing (subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy)
OpenAI — ingredient classification (we send ingredient text only, no personal data)
Google Firebase — crash reporting and analytics

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS). All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and scan history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, scan history, subscription records) will be permanently deleted immediately.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Export your scan history data

7. Children's Privacy

Kenzu is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
